Dulla Mountain (GR1 long distance walk skirts the mountain up Mule Gulley and then descends down past the Griffin Vulture nests and finalises in our village)
The Ebro Canyon (impressive canyon for one of Spain's largest rivers, lookout for golden and bonelli's eagle)
Engaña and Somo Mountains (take a walk from our house and enter in the oak, silver birch and beech woods, home to wolves, wild boar, deer, eagle owl, goshawks and black woodpecker.)
Santiago Mountain and the Salvada Range (it boasts a spectacular waterfall "El salto de Nervion" more than 300 meters high, and a curious wolf trap)
Castro Valnera (1718 meters, the highest mountain in the area with 1000 meter near vertical drop)

Salazar- small village certified "Bien de Interes Cultural" (of cultural interest) has beautiful collection of stone houses dating back to XVI and XVII centuries.
Espinosa de los Monteros- pretty market town at the foot of the Cantabrian Mountains, with interesting architecture.
Orbaneja del Castillo- a stunning village in the Ebro Canyon with an impressive waterfall and Griffin Vultures circling overhead.
Friás- impressive village on a hilltop with castle and large Roman bridge.
Arija- on the edge of the Ebro resevoir, beach, beutiful sunsets. (sailing, wind surfing, fishing, birdwatching)
Medina de Pomar - large village with Museum, convent, and interesting music festival.
Pesquera del Ebro-small historic village on the banks of the ebro river (rafting and canoeing)
Puentedey - picturesque village built on a rock with the river Nela running through it.
