Welcome to CASA LA ENGAÑA in Pedrosa, a small guesthouse in the northern Spanish Province of Burgos. The house is equipped with all the facilities to offer a comfortable and quality stay in one of the most scenic and unknown parts of this beatiful country. Pedrosa is strategically placed just over an hours drive south from the ferry ports of Santander and Bilbao, where is also an award-winning International Airport.
Casa La Engaņa is the result of the dedication and hard work of the owners Duncan Holt and Mila García. It has been carefully restored and adapted to offer the best comfort and service to the guests whilst at the same time faithfully respecting the original style and tradition of the building it´s surroundings.
Guests can use the house as a base camp for many varied excursions which Duncan and Mila are more than happy to advise you about. English, Spanish, French and a little Italian and German are spoken by the couple. You can, if you so wish, receive dynamic and practical Spanish classes, as they are experienced foriegn language teachers. A local practitioner also offers courses in Do-in "self massage" and therapeutic shiatsu massage sessions.
All types of activities related to leisure and outdoor sports are encouraged, you can rent mountain bikes to explore at your leisure the impressive countryside. Due to this being one of the least densely populated places of Western Europe it boasts a wide colletion of flora and fauna. Birds of prey are varied and widespread, as are deer, wild boar have been sighted within half a kilometer of the house, and wolves have had a long but difficult association with the area. The massive Griffin Vultures (wingspan of up to 2.8 meters) nest so near they can be seen from the library windows!
